I am constantly working at the edge of my abilities. I attempt to make each set of paintings a step forward, an exercise unto themselves that will aid not only in the execution of my future work but to allow me to realistically quantify what I have done before.
I am influenced by everything. It would be safe to say nature and science are my primary sources. But it goes much deeper that that. I am inspired by the quantified objects and places themselves. Images and analysis only are interpretations of the world. I allow my own experience or perspective guide me into shaping my own uniqueness of my work. I find the real world to be most inspiring. I constantly feel like I'm at the beginning, the moment of discovery ... or rediscovery. I never look for inspiration in a set manner, or by methodology. Rather I find it everywhere ... in images, in written history, conversation, other art, inner vision, music, anything. Almost any subject has the potential for being the basis for new art today.
Undoubtedly my work will evolve into shapes and forms I am unable to even conceive of in the present. Because I'm madly in love with making art I tend to work until I am exhausted. No matter what time of day it is I probably am working right now.
